7 Family-Friendly Spring Getaways for Easter

Spring break is over for most of us, but there’s still time to get your family vacation in without taking too many days off from work and school. With Good Friday and Easter Monday coming up, the long weekend is a great time to get away with the kids. There are quite a few hotels and resorts offering fun activities and events throughout the month of April. My family and I are breaking all of the rules by pulling the kids out for a few days starting tomorrow for some pre-Easter fun at Disneyland — which will also be throwing its own fun Easter activities.

The nice thing about the following seven hotels and resorts is that all of them are family friendly. They offer fantastic amenities and vacation packages and just happen to be featuring Easter-themed activities over the next couple of weeks, too.

Do you have plans to get away during the Easter holidays or do you usually spend it with family and friends?

Manhattan's iconic Hôtel Plaza Athénée has partnered with The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, an innovative fundraising initiative that will showcase 250 large egg sculptures each designed by globally-renowned artists, designers and creatives. These eggs are located throughout New York City's five boroughs from April 1 to 26, 2014.

The 30" Babar egg sculpture at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, is designed by Babar author and illustrator Laurent De Brunhoff and will be on display on the steps of the hotel during the Easter weekend. Families can enjoy a special "Tea Time with Babar" event on Saturday, April 12, and on the 19th from 3-5 pm. This entire event coincides perfectly with the hotel's Babar package!

The two upcoming "Tea Time with Babar" events, part of an ongoing Babar-centered celebration with the hotel, will feature a drawing contest that awards the winner with an autographed Babar book. Can't make the tea party? The Babar egg will be placed in front of the Hôtel Plaza Athénée on 64th street between Madison and Park Avenue from April 1 to 18.
