Having traveled through numerous airports over the past few years, I’ve seen my share of interesting people. People watching/listening is one of my guilty pleasures at the airport, and although I could write a humorous and entertaining post about the stories I’ve heard while waiting in security lines and airport lounges, I thought I’d stick to the fashion side of things. I’m a lover of handbags and have only recently found my true love — it took a few hits and misses, but after about a dozen tries, I think I’ve finally found the perfect travel bag. Coincidentally, the brand is a popular one in the travel sphere. It joins a long list of popular bags that I’m sure you’ve seen at some point, whether waiting in line to board or simply watching a passerby. Perhaps you’ve always wondered, “Where could I find one of those?” or “I wonder what brand that bag is?”
Without further adieu, I present the 12 most popular travel bags around — at least, according to my observations (the list has been populated based on the frequency that I see these brands at the airport). On most trips, I’m able to count all 12 of these at the airport. Yes, they are THAT popular!
The Best Travel Bags Around 1 of 13
Lightweight, laptop sleeves, leather, canvas, luxurious, affordable. Here you'll find 12 of the best and most popular travel bags around.
Vera Bradley 2 of 13
Visit Disney World on any day and you are bound to see at least 10 of these bags on the backs or shoulders of women and men. Vera Bradley is hugely popular in Florida -- especially at Disney World. I don't know if it's because of the brightly-colored patterns or soft, lightweight materials, but one thing is for certain -- this is one brand that is heavily associated with travel and has almost a cult-like following. In fact, Vera Bradley even has their own line of Disney Parks bags!

Reisenthel 3 of 13
Reisenthel is a popular brand in Europe, but you can find their items in America as well. Although they have plenty of styles in the travel category, the one that seems to be the most popular is the Mini Maxi Travel Bag. This is the one that I've seen the most. The Allrounder comes in a close second.
Purchase for $4.99 through Reuseit.
Longchamp Le Pliage 4 of 13
Take a trip to Paris and you'll notice Longchamp bags just about everywhere. Their Le Pliage bag is hugely popular with travelers, and for many it's considered the ultimate travel bag. Made from a lightweight nylon, this cute tote features leather details.
Purchase for $145 through Longchamp.
Louis Vuitton 5 of 13
Ah, Louis Vuitton. The one and only! Louis Vuitton has many, many different bag styles, but the most popular (from what I've noticed) with travelers is the Keepall. Available in a few different sizes, this travel bag comes in the classic monogram canvas and features leather handles and a double zipper. The price matches the luxury; it starts at $1,270.00 for the medium-sized version.
Coming in a very close second is the Neverfull. It's a great tote that comes in both Damier and Monogram.
Purchase for $1,270.oo through Louis Vuitton.
Le Sportsac 6 of 13
You may recognize the little black and white Le Sportsac logo from airport shops or on the arms of other travelers. This is an affordable brand that's been around for quite some time. Their backpacks, totes, and handbags come in a variety of different patterns to suit every taste and they wear quite well. If you want a bag that will last you a long time, this is it.
Psst… they collaborated with Disney on this adorable "It's a Small World" collection.

Lululemon 7 of 13
Lululemon seems to be the uniform of travelers these days, and I too have fallen for their charming and oh-so-comfortable yoga pants, tops, and hoodies. Their bags are great for traveling because most of them have a special pocket for your laptop, thus eliminating the need for an extra bag.
Lululemon is always coming out with new styles; they aren't ones to keep the same fashions around for long. Check out the bags available now by visiting their site.
Purchase for $128.00 through Lululemon
Michael Kors 8 of 13
The classic Jet Setter Tote from Michael Kors lives true to its name. The MK logo is hard to miss and the style -- timeless.

The North Face Backpack 10 of 13
The North Face logo is instantly recognizable and is usually staring me in the face as I wait to board a plane. There is always more than one person sporting one of these backpacks.

Epiphanie 12 of 13
It's the dolled up camera bag that has everyone talking. Epiphanie's camera/laptop/travel bags are stunning and offer a real bang for your buck. Not only have I seen many of these bags at the airport, a few of my friends are proud owners of at least one (if not two) Epiphanie bags.
Purchase for $164.99 through Epiphanie
Herschel Supply Co. 13 of 13
Another classic, Herschel uses a custom, heavyweight cotton canvas to make their backpacks, which are quite popular with men and women alike. Some of the backpacks are large enough to hold up to a 15" laptop.
Purchase for $89.99 through Herschel
